Same problem here and the same solution except I used some clear hose from Lowes or Home Depot. What I did in hopes of the repair lasting longer was to cut two pieces of electrical shrink tubing that would fit around the two joints. Using a small butane solder gun, I shrank the tubing tightly around the joints. Then, spread liquid tape over the entire area overlapping onto the original hose. Then wrapped everything with rescue tape. Only time will tell if this was worth the extra effort.
