There one word for winter tyre: hakkapeliitta

Hakkas on rear and RAO 8s on front is a good combo. They worked very well on my 84.

My GoForm imitation Hankooks (their ad copy says they use Hankook's 'technology' or some such) from China, they are so far indistinguishable, handling-wise from my last pair of RAO 8s...And at $43 each from Tireseasy.com, they were under half the cost of the RAO 8s... But they are an unknown and I am the Vanagon list beta tester...so far so good (appx 10k miles)
