The ones on my '85 open at least 135 degrees, giving a nice wind in the face! It's my air conditioning.

Hi all,

It's been awhile since I've been on the list, but back on and have a question about the triangle vent windows (1990 Vanagon Westy, Washington DC area, FWIW).

When opening the vent window, it will open about 90 degrees in relation to the door. I seem to recall my 85 Westy (no longer have it) opened farther than that (perhaps about 135 degrees). Is it really limited to opening only 90 degrees? Is there something that can be modified to allow the vent window to open further? I've got the door panels off right now while I have the regulators/motors rebuilt, so figured if there's something to be modified ore replaced, now would be the time to do it.

I'd like to be able to get more fresh air coming in to the driver & front passenger seats than what comes in from the door windows being rolled down and the dash vents being opened. Personal preference, really.

Gregg 90 Westy (Blueberry)
