to work on, compared to the Safari AWD small van I got recently. Of course, I've been working on the Vanagon now for a few years so I know how to do a lot of the stuff effectively and I am a rookie when it comes to the GM vans. Seems like everything I need to mess with in this Safari is buried under a couple of three other things...most of which are for the optional equipment that this van has...Power goldarned everything! But it seems to work pretty well overall... Pushing the front drivetrain and the viscus coupling and toting around substantial GVW is giving me significantly less gas mileage than my inline 4 powered 5sp Vanagon, but then it's probably similar to what I might see with a Syncro..somewhere around 16-17mpg I am guessing, so far. |
