It is, you can't fill it much above 50% or you won't get the convection air flow you need to cool the contents.  The space is much better used for storage IMHO. I gave mine away last year after 20 years of fooling with them in previous rigs and carrying an ice chest too.  The quaintness factor isn't worth it.  If you need a fridge for medical purposes, the Truckfridge is the only serious option (at a serious price).
