Thanks Jim. Now we need a modification that gets away from the adjustment knob UNDER the table. That one is a real pain when stowing and opening the table for use. My wife isn't strong enough to tighten and loosen it when in the stowed position, having to reach under the table. I've given it thought, but just haven't arrived at a reasonable solution. For us, the only thing we have come up with is to remove the table from the leg for traveling, stowing it in the back with other gear, and fitting it onto the leg when ready to use it.

One thing I have considered is rather than a magnet, fitting a latch to the table and the bulkhead, and just tighten the table with the knob when it is in use, otherwise leave it just tight enough to keep the knob from vibrating off.

You whittle one end down to fit snugly inside the mounting collar on the base down in the bottom of the cabinet. Tap it home. Now, reinstall the table leg over the dowel, and put the table into place. > > Now, you can use the table as normal in the "down" position, but you can also loosen the knob, raise the table to clear the tops of the cabinets when they are open, and even higher than that. > > Jim > > > On Jun 18, 2014, at 8:58 AM, <mcneely4@cox.net> wrote: > > > > So, could you describe the " 1" dowel trick"?
