It would be great to have a tool like this on any pre OBD vehicle.  I got
really spoiled with the VAG-COM diagnostic system I had for my EVC, and boy,
did I need it with that rig.  It told me which cylinder was misfiring (wires
and coil packs had a short life), when the TB needed cleaning, all the
temps, and even transmission fluid level. And much, much more. And there was
always something more, which is why I'm back to a Vanagon Westy.
