Subject: 2.2 Suby Stuff etc. FS Sandy Oregon
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Hi all.

I'm not on the Suby list so thought I'd post here. Short story:

Shop owner says owner (friend) of body/parts wants $1000 for all. Shop has downsized space and is desperate to move these parts. I don't know anyone involved. Will find shop contact info later.

While traveling recently, and searching for shifter parts, I stopped in at an automotive custom suspension etc. shop in Sandy OR. When I spoke "Vanagon engine conversion" to shop owner, he was quick to point out an early 70's VW Beetle stripped and "dipped" body, new rear cage, 2.2 Subaru motor, harness etc etc. all for sale at $1000. I have NO idea of engine etc. condition, if all needed parts present, or if adaptor plate present or correct for a Vanagon transaxle, but based upon shop owners comments, my guess is that the person who amassed these parts knew what they were looking for and had all the parts needed for a Suby 2.2 to Bug swap. It's a classic example of a stalled project. Parts were up high on shelves. This is all I saw and the story I'm sticking to. < grin >

Neil.
