Easy way to tell:

If your cap has a tapered bottom, it's the type which accepts the ignition key. The newer replacements are flat bottomed and cylindrical. Uses the short which does not work on the ignition. AFAIK, all original locking gas caps were designed to operate with the ignition key as a master. The only lock(s) which require a different profile key would be the glovebox, single pedestal seat locker, & water filler port.
