Hi thanks all.
So you think the bad wire might be the signal wire. Would that account
for this intermittent stumbling condition somehow? Is that likely?
If the O2 sensor can be disconnected and the van will then run fine, but
rich...wouldn't that make it sort of unlikely that the faulty connection
could cause a real major but sharply periodic interruption of smooth
power? I mean, if this were a carbed vehicle I would say it was like the
plugs were suddenly fouling or the gas line was being partially
plugged....really bad missing and stumbling...front end dips stand on the
nose missing...then clean and normal power delivery...
anyhow the O2 sensor was due to be changed being old and having lived
through a ruptured headgasket that I ran almost 2000 miles before repairing.
I am going to change the Temp II sender also right now....because it is
supposed to be windy tomorrow and I want to go back to my favorite
windsurfing spot, that 100 mile round trip...My backup van, that Safari,
it's supposed to get pretty crappy gas mileage and it's all full of tools
now...
