Your next issue will be a slipping oil-saturated clutch. I don't know if it's easier to remove the engine or transmission (I suspect the engine) in a Syncro to replace the clutch and seal, but if the transmission comes out reseal the axle hubs too.

And, it's not customary to replace this seal when doing an engine R&R, but on a vehicle this age it would have been prudent.

Good luck, and you might consider AAA Premier if you don't have towing!

Hi list.

Ok found a 17mm allen at parts store. Got the bolt off. No touch of fluid with finger.

Used a siphon pump and pumped in almost 3 quarts of sae80/90 till full.

Going to charge it down road again. Have more fluid and know how to fill again.

Think it is leaking from main seal to engine.

Any thoughts on where I should go to get this seal replaced? And costs? Heading to Denver colorado springs area.

Also would this seal be something the shop that installed the engine would have replaced or something they would have over looked.

Love our community

Thanks for responses

Bob
