As long as we are speculating, I would be concerned that they forgot to put a pilot bearing into the rebuilt motor. That lets the pilot/input shaft wobble against the tranny seal and then the seal leaks as well as you can get damage to the oil slinger sleeve.

The tranny seal can leak without much oil getting into the clutch disc. The release bearing operating sleeve is designed to catch leaking tranny oil and let it drain straight down from a hole in the bottom of that sleeve.
