Just did this job. It's easy to switch out the lock cores, just look for a tiny set screw (painted over) and remove it with a jeweler's screwdriver. Pay attention to the spring inside, it's tricky to get back in.

Take apart the new one and try to put it back together so you see how before you disassemble the old one.

Then use a bit of Locktite on the screw that holds it in, they seem to loosen over time.
