I just got done adding a hidden switch in driver's area to disable the Fuel Pump relay back in the engine compartment.  Works good.  Previously, I had added an aftermarket cruise control to my Vanagon and utilized a 10' length of white lawn irrigation pipe to route wires under van, so I just added 2 more wires to the hidden switch in that pipe back to engine.  Pretty hard to detect unless you absolutely knew what you were looking for. Kind of a lot of crawling around under car to install, but now that it's done, it's very user-friendly.
