I helped a friend install a "TIMER" relay he made form Radio Shack parts on a 911 Porsche'. It went like this, First he made up a remote "kill" switch for the fuel pump relay, then he made up a relay timer to power the fuel pump for like 5 minutes. The car would start and drive off and then die. When that happened "Joe" nice guy would leave it on the side of the road, thinking he didn't want to be caught under the hood of a hot car. We will never know how it worked, as it never got boosted as far as I know. But a good idea I thought. By the way he never locked it either as he didn't want the damage of the break in.
