In the Northeast, Brady and I use rust as a deterrent. Our vans are so likely to fall apart as the perp takes them, that they stay safe. Luckily the only theft either one of us had was datalogging equipment stolen when the van was parked in town overnight one time.

That sucked but much better than the whole van being gone. For Bostigs pre-group 8 they can take the PATs key with them (RFID chip key) and it is impossible to run the engine, or you can always pop the crank position sensor connector off and the same thing... crank but no start.
