Don,

I went through this with my 88 GL and 2.1L WBX and the Digifant FI system. Would run along fine - then start chugging and lugging - turn of then back on allowing the ECU to reset - and it would be fine for a little bit - then it would start again. Unplugging the O2 sensor took care of the problem. In time - a new O2 sensor eliminated the problem altogether.
