Hi Alistair, Peterson guides, from my poor recall, a near gold standard guide. The guy was prodigious in producing books.. My current guide is: James C. Halfpenny… at a near halfpenny cost of $10 at Waterton Lakes National Park. "Scats and Tracks of the Rocky Mountains". 2001, The Global Pequot Press. I was observing a ton of scat on the trails I was riding my Mt Bike (carried on my Westy, RVC) Bought a guide and identified the scat as Grouse.. Usually one runs over Grouse when riding grassy trails. This trip I was not observing any grouse, nor their sounds.. just their scat. Sure was big scat for a medium sized bird… BOT.. LED lights? I'm an over 60's guy. LED's, even expensive ones, lack the wave length to allow comfortable reading at night. For mood lighting, wonderful but I cannot read bye them.. Even my retina burning LED head-lamp, fails to provide the balanced wave lengths of white light that an incandescent or halogen bulb produces… My reading lights remain HALOGEN! Happy scat or eschatological hunting… :-) Pz
