I don't have enough knowledge to speak to actual resistance values, but tencentlife on thesamba.com posted a neat video of an analogue volt-ohm meter being used to measure consistency of resistance value, as the flap is moved. I gather that his point was to observe if there were any drop outs when slowly moving the flap.

The resistive track tends to wear more at commonly used positions. Idle, cruising speeds.

the arrow points to what is likely around town speeds. You can see similar wear to LH (highway cruise speeds. Note no wear at LH of track) and at RH. (idle)
