That's not bad gas. Unless you bought some from someone selling it out of cans by the road, there is really no such thing today. Your engine sounds like it's begging for mercy.

Do you have towing? You are about 100 miles from LA, and I doubt you'll make it up the Grapevine.

Tow it now while you still have something that might still be rebuildable.

No the radiator is not hot. Now I'm near Stockdale highway near Bakersfield on I-5 I drove all night, the heat gauge did fine. ( I had the heat fan on high the whole time) It's now exhibiting signs of bad gas, which it does pretty frequently. I'm not sure if that's exactly what the problem is. The engine sounds terrible. Almost about to backfire. It won't go past like 5-10 mph. It's only 9am and it's already 88 degrees out and looks like it's got about 15 or 20 more degrees to go! No shade. Smells like cow crap. Middle of nowhere. I'm hoping I can burn off the bad gas and hit the road with the heat on full blast and get out of here. Btw, I can't find your Facebook page Dominic.

I have an opportunity to make money in the next few days in LA so hopefully I can make it there and get this thing fixed. >> >>> On Jul 1, 2014, at 5:22 AM, Angus Gordon <birdworks@gmail.com> wrote: >>> >>> >>> Hello Erin, >>> >>> You would definitely be risking the engine by continuing. I have to drive with the heat on or else the temp sensor will go all the way to he right and then start blinking. My vanagon has a fairly new motor and a recent tune up. I suspect that the radiator needs replacing since it's the original 85 radiator. I'm near Redwood City headed to Los Angeles this evening. >>>> I am now leaking coolant from the main coolant tank I believe hats where it's coming from. >>>> Should I make this trip over the grape vine or am I risking blowing my engine?
