Al-  A few years ago I dropped my tank, sanded it, repainted and installed a new regulator (from one of our vendors), a shut off valve and the extend a tank kit.  The new setup caused the alignment of the whole assembly to shift toward the front of the van enough to require re-working of the brass tube and hardware to pipe into the stove (I have eliminated my stock fridge).  For me, it was a bear.  First time using a flaring tool and bending pipe. I finnally got it right after many tries.  I really like the extend a  tank kit.  It allows me to use the flexible hose supplied to direct hook up a coleman stove that has both a burner and grill and I can use it to cook outside the van on either the driver side or the hose can run under the van to set up the stove near the slider door under a canopy. I also appreciate the comfort of knowing that if the propane tank empties I can use another flex hose supplied with the kit to hook up to either a one pound or five pound propane bottle.   I just bought a propex heater from Karl at Westy Ventures which I want to install this summer under the bench seat.  I was concerned about drilling through  the body and integrating into the propane system.  Karl advertises that he will do a basic install for $ 250 but when I went to a local RV service establishment in my part of the county they wanted between 750 and 1000.  No way. I'm going to take my time and try and do it myself.  I may try to use flex hose instead of brass pipe to hook from the heater to the propane system.  I would like to put a shut off valve in the junction that goes to the heater since I will only want to pressurize that circuit in cool weather.   Anyway, good luck. Take your time with the install.  I think the extend a stay is well worth it.   Rick Duvernay Redding California 1990 Westy  On Tuesday, July 1, 2014 4:16 PM, Al Knoll <anasasi@GMAIL.COM> wrote: Ja Volks ve lost to Belgium.  Have any among you installed the Marshall Extend a Stay device onto your westy propane tank?  Hints on the installation specific to the Westy propane tank would be much appreciated.
