I am sure they paid a company to locate, purchase, restore, and modify the vehicles and were charged for all aspects from time spent acquiring them until final delivery so it is not surprising that the price per vehicle is that high. I once assisted a local Oral Surgeon that had purchased a 1966 Mustang for his 16 yr old son and wanted some work done to make it a nicer, and safer car. According to my calculations by the time he was done the car which was by then show quality had consumed over $60,000.00 of his money. He ended up with a full rotisserie restoration, all new parts, engine swap, power everything, custom stereo, chromed components, etc, and he got off cheap on labor. The body man that did the work was doing it as a side job under the table for less than half of the then going labor rate which in the early `90's was around $35.00 today's rate is more than double that at average shops and more for high end custom work.
