Dennis,

No, I do not have the ball check in my fill pipe.

Wonder if it could be the gas station "vapor capture" rubber cover that is not letting any air escape (WAG). I went back to the same place to re-check the phenomenon (with same results). I'll try a different station tomorrow.

Is your fill pipe one with the ball check on the end? The cage may be bent or collapsed.

Dennis,

From my phone.

Subject: At the pump fueling issue

Good summer to you,

Digijet, '84 Westy, 2.2 GoWesty kit in a 1.9 block.

Last night I lowered the fuel tank and sealed the fuel level sender using Permatex Permashield Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing & Flange Sealant #85420.

Then, at the pump today I put the pump handle at slowest fill click and the gas overflows out of the fill hole (at the body panel) after about 1/2 gallon goes into the tank. I did manage to get about six gallons in...albeit slowly.

New tank (6 months) new sender (also 6 months - been leaking due to not so tight seal), newish seals on the tank, crossover line goes up and over the coolent lines, etc.

I reached in to check the crossover and the vent lines and all appear copacetic. I unscrewed the three fasteners holding the fill tube and fiddled with it a bit, it seems to be in a happy position.

What gives? It seems like an obstruction, or an air vent situation? Anyone else experience this or can offer opinions, theories or answers/solutions?

Thanks,

Skip
