We just finished a 5 day trip in the Rockies.  (see photos at www.slowcarfasthouse.com) After some long, steep hills we realized that we need to cool Alta down a bit.  What steps can you suggest for cooling our engine? We are running a Bostig. We have a tool box (Harbor Freight trailer tongue box) up front which partially covered the lower vent area for the radiator. We removed the lower portion of the grill to increase air flow.  That helped.  Then at one point we took off the tool box.  That helped too. We thought about cutting the opening larger, behind the main grill.  We know that the box was blocked some air flow, but we are going to need to put stuff up front on that metal tray (see photos)..... what else can we do to reduce temps?  Oil cooler?  Two stage fan motor? Different fan switch?  Water Wetter or similar, as discussed here? Any other suggestions?Geneva 1985 Vanagon with Bostig
