you can tell by the stock wheels and 14 inch tires, for example, they guy more or less just drove it for what it is. Every single used car I get .. regardless of price...needs dozens of things done to it. it's normal for any VW this old to need 'everything' .. say what ? when did I last change the gear oil ? the gear oil can be changed ?? how to you check it even ? and on and on. for the Right Person and new owner though .. at less than 8K likely ..someone could move into a diesel camper vanagon , and those can be expensive to get into, whether you buy a dead one and 'do everything' or start with one already running like this. I did not see a mention of transmission .. it 'should' have the air-cooled DK box fitted to make the cruise gearing decent. ( and hey ..German Transaxle is right there in Bend ) . Scott
