If you do get the Bus Depot version, be prepared to lay out both your old tent and the new one prior to installing it to make sure it fits.

I neglected to do that and the one I bought from the BD last year would not fit all the way around. I have gaps in the corners. 

Not sure if they'll take it back now, but I did read on the Samba that they got a bad batch of tents last year so maybe they will swap it out.

Getting ready to order new canvas for the Starwagen (25 year old original
getting in bad shape) and debating about the OEM ($399) vs the Bus Depot
version at $249.  Can anyone tell me about their experience with the $249
version?  Especially the install.  Good fit for an experienced installer?
Or problems?  I'm on a very tight budget and looking to make the best I
can out of the money available.
