Yes, the fellow who used to own Peace Vans here in Seattle sold something like what you describe for about $600 as I recall. Fabricated out of aluminum stock. He no longer owns the shop and I don't think the new owners kept that line of business. You can buy a rear hatch/bumper rack and a lot of jerry cans for that kind of money.
