I did consider the Magnaflow as an add-on to their system, but it still would have been an extra $250. I got the 49-state Magnaflow from Advance for less than one-third that price. Like all after-market cats, it has a 25,000 mile catalyst warranty and a 50,000 mile rust-through warranty. I don't have emissions tests any longer but I'm still doing my part not to pollute unnecessarily. I'll use the money I saved for when I need emmisions-related equipment on the Audi. I'll need to take on extra hours at work for that. It is discounted as part of an exhaust system purchase. That Cat is also made by Magnaflow. The CARB approved Cat has a much larger core in both length and diameter and makes a noticeable performance improvement over all the small inexpensive ones. If you still have emissions testing especially with the Dyno the small cat will likely fail in 30K or less. The large one is warrantied for 50K. Based on price, and reputation, I ordered the Magnaflow. I got it for $80.82 shipped from Advance Auto Parts with an online coupon code. I just couldn't pass up that price. On one side it will be attached to a Magnaflow muffler, and on the other a stainless exhaust, both part of a GoWesty exhaust on sale this month. Ed |
