The tray, wires, and one hose is different. The tray is deeper and the front clip is different shape. Lowering the tray is the important part. Otherwise the tire will rub on the steering shaft.

Does anyone have the specific changes VW made in the spare tire clam shell and wires to accommodate the wider 205 tires? I would imagine the modifications allows for 20 mm increased space but I wonder if there is anything else.

Has anyone fabricated an extended hinge adapter to allow using the standard clam shell?

Also, does anyone have 2 extra securing clips (251 801 921) for the clam shell hinge? Pmail me with your mailing address and I'll send you a self addressed stamped envelope and couple of bucks if you'll send them to me.

Ed
