Actually if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense! Take GM for
instance, the tail lights are on the same circuit as the dash lights. Should
you loose dash lights, you know you have lost tail lights as well. Kind of a
red flag. So as a "COURTESY" Das uncle Wilhelm, is saying if you can't see
to move around in your van, your gonna get hot under the collar.
Lame I know, but I've got it out of my system for the week end!  ;~o
