I often use the tube up the plug hole trick to light the fridge successfully, as I also use the air pump until it stays lit process, as well as anything else I can think of to get the fridge lit when it gives me problems (last time was 'cause I neglected to turn up the thermostat - started just fine after that). My question is, I thought it was best, or at least OK to leave that plug out while fridge is running. Provides extra draught.
