I was looking at these things for a different vehicle application and came across the Fiberine brand.  The webpage (follow the link and click on Full Size Van Tops)  shows a model for the Vanagon.  Not my favorite shape of the ones available, but this might be worth a look for someone who is interested.  I prefer the lines of the AW roof and some others.
