In days of yore, the vw faithful might have used a dual brake system for the rear. A poor man's limited slip perhaps. Two levers to independently apply the parking brake to the side that lost traction. Hear tell it worked. You do have a splitter in the cable system. Maybe Alistair could rig up the proper mechanism. Three levers. One for the locking parking brake you now have and two others working on the individual cables to avoid the slippage.
