Subject: 1983 full westy in Los Angeles area wrecking yard
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Yesterday (monday 8/25 @ 6pm) I saw a 1983 aircooled full Westfalia with pop top at the Pick Your Part in Sun Valley, CA at 11201 Pendleton St. (Just north of Burbank/ Los Angeles)

It's in the "Primo" part of the wrecking yard so parts are going to be little pricier than if it were in the general yard.

NO engine. NO transmission.

Most of the interior Westfalia stuff seemed to be there although the cabinet doors have been taken off the cabinets and are piled up. It looks like roaches and mice had lived in there but most of the parts looked as if they could be easily cleaned.

The equipment is used (obviously) but didn't seem to be damaged in any unmanageable way.

The entire Dometic fridge is in there. The stainless sink and stove top. All the cabinet doors. The cabinet drawer. the water tank. The orignal front seats are there with swivel base. They are covered so I didn;t see the condition of the fabric. The fold-out couch was recovered but is there. The mattress over the engine lid is NOT there.

Pop Top is there but felt chalky.

I'm NOT saying this is a pristine westy interior. But if you're looking it likely could be what you're looking for.

I've been away from the list for few years so I don't know if we can post pics these days. I'll try in a follow up email.

Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA
