From the POV of someone who had never even thought of doing upholstery, the job wasn't too hard. There are some great YouTube videos on this. Be sure that sales clerk knows if fabric is FOR SURE stain resistant. The fabric I chose was purported to be such but may not be. Here's my web pages. Your corner seams will be better, ;)

I chose to use a sitting type (weight) foam on the bench seat. But then I weigh over 200 lbs. still, it is nice to sit on.

One stupid mistake, that turned out ok, was to use 4 inch foam. However. The seat still folds in,out ok. YMMV.
