Subject: Win some and loose some VW emblem success.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi folks,

I wanted to share a little success story. Perhaps help to others.

At West River I saw Tom looking at replacing his front VW emblem. Last week I walked by my car and ran my hand over the grill. something felt not quite right. After Somme investigation the front emblem felt loose. I wiggled it and with a little effort, it fell off in my hand. It had been glued in place. the original posts were broken low down.

I showed the emblem to a friend and he took it home and drilled out the posts. He set in a number 5 screw and used JB weld to hold it. He then threaded two nuts on each new post. He had clipped off the screw heads prior to gluing the screws in place. It feels much stronger then the original plastic posts with spring clips.

I just wanted to let folks know that with a drill press and a little effort the emblem on the front grill may be repairable. I'm glad I showed it to my friend. Of course, same friend has also messed up several things by not following my requests or ignoring my directions.

You win some and loose some!
