You need to lower the radiator a little to get the shroud assembly off. The hoses can remain connected.

If you have the complete larger fan harness then it should have a resistor too. The larger motor needs a dedicated power feed from the battery like VW did it. I wouldn't connect it to the old weaker style fuse/relay panel at all.

Bentley page 97.200 shows a simple wiring implementation. The small circle with a 21 in it is an error though as that should be the battery post connection feeding the 50 amp fuse.

The harness you have is probably from a van with A/C so Bentley page 97.145 shows the detail but has some wire colors wrong. I can give the three wire color corrections. Some of the wire connections shown should be ignored for your fan conversion. It is simple stuff, don't use connector #2h and don't use the 6 pin H connector.
