RE: Cigar Lighters For Power I'm of the same opinion as Dave on how bad a design the cigar lighter is for providing power. several years ago I planned on going to all Power Pole connectors for everything, cut off the damn lighter plugs and throw them away. And then along comes USB (5v) for everything or proprietary 12v adapters for some laptops that don't use 12v DC and I finally gave up. Too many variable. There are cigar lighter female connectors of very good quality to be had but for a price. Maybe one day I'll try that route. For right now I have fair quality plugs that sprout into various adapters for my electronic toys. But boy do I wish there was something better.
