I've done it, a long time ago. It's covered in Bentley pretty well as I recall. As I recall you take the side covers off first, then the ceiling unit. It's a job for two, but I built a stand out of 2x4s a few inches below it and was able to remove it from the rear of the car after the unit was resting on it.
