Subject: Installing new headliner material in an '82 Westfalia. Tips?
              Or, Sites?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi all:

I've purchased a couple of yards of Trim Panel/Headliner material from Go Westy and now I'm mulling how to go about doing the job.

It's clearly a situation where you use an adhesive spray on the headliner itself and on the headliner material and slap to two together, but I expect that the adhesive will be very "grabby" and that you have exactly one chance of getting the material on smoothly without puckers, folds or whatnot.

I've got the headliner out of the vehicle and, naturally, it doesn't lie flat, having assumed the shape of the cab's interior after 32 years in place. I expect that will only add to the problem of getting the material properly mated to it.

Anyway, if anybody has ever done this job before and has some tips, techniques, insights or knows of a site titled "Installing Headliner Material in an Air-cooled Volkwagen Westfalia for Dummies" I'd appreciate the feedback.
