I finally got around to getting my '85 Westy back on the road (out of necessity, my house is sold and I have to be out in two weeks!) To recap: right side head gasket blew, replaced gasket and re-used original head. 400 miles later head starts leaking again, this time around one of the head nuts. Thought is that maybe the head cracked. So, did the job again, this time with a new head. I now have about 300 miles and no problems so far. Question is: should the head be re-torqued at XXX miles?
