It would depend on the volume difference between the old and new calipers. Piston travel would be about the same, but if the new brakes have larger caliper pistons, hence require more brake fluid to push out a given distance, that would mean more pedal travel since the fluid volume put out by the master cylinder is the same. In theory, it would mean more pedal travel, but a little better modulation of the braking force. You could try upgrading to a larger pistoned master cylinder by the same percentage difference that the front brake caliper piston increased, to try to get the pedal travel back to stock, but doing so would put more force on the back brakes as well which might have undesireable braking effects. One thing I've noticed is that I was expecting the brake pedal to travel less to the floor then it currently was. Thought being new pads less travel. Is that a reasonable expectation or am I off the mark? Cheers, Harry |
