Subject: Shifter clik

I started getting a click from my shifter when going into gear. '87 Westy. Not a grind, sounds like down in the linkage box below the front floor, I don't think the noise is being transmitted from somewhere else, no problem getting into gear with no additional pressure, it just makes a click when going into gear. BTW, not long ago, the late '87 boots were added to the linkage. I decided to remove the box around the shift end under the front floor to check things out. There are 2 bolts on the driver side of the box, as well as the 4 nuts that hold the box on. What are the 2 driver side bolts and what do they hold? It's hard to look in from the back to see what they are. I don't want to remove them and have my shift rod (or something else) fall off (with additional adjustments later). Bentley is kinda vague on what those bolts go to.
