Do the big brake kit's calipers have larger pistons than stock ? that would account for more brake pedal travel.

Since pads ride 'just almost touching' the discs ....the pads themselves don't directly relate to brake pedal travel usually.

Since hoses to calipers had to be disconnected... that would mean the front brakes got bled with new brake fluid . And ideally bled well so no air is present.

Did the rears get bled with new BF as well ? That's also a great time to bleed some new fluid into the clutch hydraulic system too.

for sure ...if the diameter of the front caliper pistons are larger than stock .. that, by definition and fundamentals, will translate to increased brake pedal travel.
