I gave up on that, the plastic is crappy and destroyed by UV light and will never look good. Get one of these: http://r.ebay.com/3NnzOn MUCH, MUCH better! You can get one for less by shopping around or at a junk yard. I got mine from a list member for under $20, but I've forgotten who. You can have my old one which I polished a bit if you want it. I remember that two, three months ago, someone posted here about a cleaner or restorative that was good for the crumbling brown auto transmission lever handle, then went on to extoll the stuff's amazing ability to restore the finish on just about anything plastic? I recall that it was not necessarily the first thing that might come to mind. It wasn't as weird as, say, Fels naptha or glycerine or creosote or lard, but it was sort of surprising. Anyone recall this? -- Jack "Rocket j Squirrel" Elliott 1984 Westfalia, auto trans, Bend, Ore. |
