John Sounds as if possibly the Idle Throttle Position Switch May have been Misadjusted or Maybe even Disconnected ~ I have a friends 89 with 2.1H2OBxr sitting in my Driveway & if I get a chance tomorrow I'll try to Duplicate your Symptoms ~ I know that if you move the Throttle Off Idle & then Trigger the IdleSwitch the RPMs will Oscillate so not really sure that this is possibly your Prob' but I'll see what I can figure out ~ If you let it Idle long enough to Come Up To Temp is there any change in the Symptoms ~ Another Scenario I'm pondering is that if the IdleControlValve is Disabled & then other adjustments were made to achieve Start&Idle there might be to much Air available @ 1stThrottle ~ Just taking some LongDistance Guesses Here ~ Or Some MisAdjustments may have been done to the AFM ~ ORR ~ DeanB On 26 Sep , 2014, at 2:50 PM, John Rodgers wrote: > Parked or in gear - anything above idle.
