I will say that the addition (or option) of power steering is pretty boss. Granted, my '81 is a bit of a rough driving experience (mostly due to wind, road noise) but when I bought my '88 Westy, in spite of what may be soft or worn shocks, it was night and day difference in the driving experience. Driving it made me feel like a respectable "grown up". I felt the need to get a pipe and tweed jacket. ;) Not sure how much weight the PS pump, lines, larger (?) rack add though. And isn't the U joint at steering column NLA? Or is Terry K still rebuilding those? Anyhow..... thread digression over. Neil.
