the I5 fits an Audi type bell housing and bolt pattern ( not waterboxer or diesel vanagon ) I had one for a while but sold it.

one thing of note about I5's in Vanagons .. in Syncro Vangons there are known for being very rough on the transmission., and those transmissions ** need all the help they can get ** !
