They share nothing with the old Audi I5's.
Chain driven DOHC on the transmission side, ala VR6 style.
Plus all the modern things like COP, plastic intake/VC, VVT, etc.
Even the EV 2.5 bore/stroke is different from the modern 2.5's.

We're talking about the newer design 2.5L gas engines
that came out in the Jetta/Golfs in the mid-2000's. Near as I can tell,
they share very little with earlier Audi/T4 five cylinder engines. For
one, I think their cams are chain driven
