1. Not sure of the 1.9 but I don't recall any real issue putting the plenum and runners back on my 2.1 The new hoses were tight to the runners so in hindsight, if one removed the plenum/runners as a unit measured overall length of this unit, then assemble new parts as such, this should help line up the runners to heads. Beware the small bolt holding the fuel injector clamp in place. Soak it well with penetrating fluid first. It's not a high torque item.

3. Degreaser should be fine. Your FLAPS should sell brushes. Rags, brushes, chemicals and time. I usually stuff a rag into a given hole. Maybe painters tape is better?

4. I used high temp exhaust paint if I recall. Zero Rust makes a rust paint that is ok up to higher temps. Info should be online.

5. wd40 works ok to clean things. Brake parts cleaner works well to clean off grease. I use it to degrease parts prior to painting.

7. I just used basic stainless steel hose clamps. There are better clamps. (ones that have raised serrated bits. The serrated bits on the "basic" clamp tend to bite into the hose). However. I think my "basic" clamps and new plenum hoses should be good for the life of the engine.
